When an Aston Martin DB6 Vantage 4.2L arrived at Hutson Engineering Services that had been producing an intense mechanical noise, our team wasted no time getting to the bottom of it.
The cylinder head was removed for inspection, revealing significant damage to the number 6 cylinder, caused by a foreign object that had entered the engine and impacted the cylinder liner, piston and combustion chamber.
Given the nature and location of the damage, a full engine strip-down was carried out to ascertain whether any further underlying issues were present, rather than risk missing a problem that could resurface down the line.
