After the engine began producing an intense mechanical noise, the workshop removed the cylinder head for inspection. This revealed significant damage within the number 6 cylinder, caused by a foreign object that had entered and impacted the cylinder.

The damage is localised to the cylinder liner, piston and cylinder head combustion chamber.

It was deemed that a full engine strip-down was required to ascertain whether any further underlying issues were present.
