Hutson Engineering Services is pleased to announce the completion of our Aston Martin V8 Vantage Le Mans V600 engine rebuild, one of just 40 built to commemorate the marque's 1959 Le Mans victory.
The engine came to us from an EU trade client through our personalised "Crate Engine Service", after coolant loss from failed liner seals. On inspection, we also found failed crankshaft thrust bearings, which had caused deep scoring, heat build-up and micro-cracking in critical areas of the crankshaft.
We manufactured a new bespoke crankshaft to our own design, incorporating modern improvements, and redesigned the thrust bearings to double their surface area for long-term durability. The engine was then comprehensively rebuilt with reworked, precision-machined cylinder heads and returned to our valued client.
