What can be an inherent, all too common failure point in the DB2 & DB2/4 is demonstrated here. The original cylinder block, having had historic repairs, has finally succumbed to age and weaknesses.
The new cylinder blocks have had the inherent weakness designed out, with increased rigidity and casting wall thickness in vital areas. Beautifully cast and machined in the UK, the new block was quickly rebuilt, bringing life back to the successful DB2/4 rally car in time to compete in a 4-day European time trial event.
