A Major Breakthrough in Aston Martin V12 Engine Development
We are delighted to announce a significant breakthrough in the ongoing development of the Aston Martin V12 engine. The comprehensive programme has not only pinpointed and addressed the root causes of common issues, such as the notorious "dreaded tick", but has also paved the way for a significant increase in engine performance and durability.

Expertise and Collaboration at the Core
This achievement is the result of a sustained and in-depth development effort that brought together a select team of professionals, engineers, enthusiasts, and Aston Martin owners. Our shared aim is to deliver a future-proof upgrade that enhances both the longevity and performance of your engine.

Central to this innovation is Hartech Automotive, a globally recognised leader in Porsche engine technology, plus AstonOwners.com and it's many contributors.
Hartech's engines power hundreds, if not thousands, of Porsches worldwide, and their proven expertise has now been adapted specifically for the Aston Martin V12.

Advanced Liner System: Setting New Standards
The team discovered that the Aston Martin V12 can sometimes have serious cylinder liner issues (For further details, please see our YouTube video: The Dreaded Tick!). Our solution is to replace the original steel liner system with a specially designed aluminium Nikasil liner developed by Hartech. This new liner is installed following a series of precision machining operations.

Because the new liner is made from aluminium—the same material as the engine block—it expands and contracts in harmony with the block during heat cycles. This, together with an innovative internal design, completely eliminates the risk of liner "drop", resulting in a robust and durable cylinder bore.

Enhanced Torque, Power and Reliability
A key advantage of this upgraded liner system is the ability to safely increase engine capacity and power. Our first 6.5-litre V12 engine has now been assembled and is undergoing rigorous testing and evaluation. Once approved, this upgrade will be available as an option for Aston Martin V12 owners seeking increased torque, horsepower and drivability.

Availability and Booking
We anticipate that the new 6.5-litre upgrade will be available from January 2026. Bookings are now being taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
